Headache is the symptom of pain anywhere in the region of the head or neck and can be resulted from the food you eat to you simply worrying about something.
There are over 28 differenttypes of headaches each of which differ due to their cause. Here is a list of 14 of them:
The central nervous system includes the nerves in the brain and spine. Tension-type headaches may also be linked to myofascial trigger points in the neck and shoulder muscles. … Trigger points are knots in the muscle tissue that can cause tightness, weakness, and      intense pain in various areas of the body.

What causes tension headaches?

The most compelling and current evidence points to a central nervous system dysfunction as the underlying cause of tension-type headaches. Thus, the muscle ache of tension-type headache is thought to be a result of increased sensitivity of the nervous system and pain from occasional or long-term imbalances in brain chemicals known as neurotransmitters (serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, enkephalins).
People with chronic tension-type headache may also have imbalances in neurochemicals. In fact, depression may be an underlying cause in some people with chronic tension headaches. Depression and some sleep disorders are linked to serotonin

Treatment of this most common form of headache includes application of ice packs in neck and upper back or heat compress. Take extra vitamin C and bioflavonoids. Avoid sugar, caffeine, food allergens, stress and ensure to get enough exercise.
