1989 history leads to the laying of the foundation at 911. So 911 becomes the established faith of our message or a firm platform, according to Early Writings chapter 61. Upon observing other prophetic lines we will see that they all are associated with 911, which clearly shows that the test begins there. This test is a three-step testing process that first develops and then demonstrates two classes of worshipers. These tests come under the commencement of the first, second and third angels’ message. These messages are given to test and to prepare our characters for the crisis at midnight.
“It is in a crisis that character is revealed. When the earnest voice proclaimed at midnight, “Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him,” and the sleeping virgins were roused from their slumbers, it was seen who had made preparation for the event. Both parties were taken unawares; but one was prepared for the emergency, and the other was found without preparation. So now, a sudden and unlooked-for calamity, something that brings the soul face to face with death, will show whether there is any real faith in the promises of God. It will show whether the soul is sustained by grace. The great final test comes at the close of human probation, when it will be too late for the soul’s need to be supplied.” COL 412.1
Furthermore, 911 is where the first angel’s message is empowered. At this point we witness many people joining the message. This is an act of fearing God. For example, in the Millerite history the first angel’s message was empowered on August 11, 1840 and it went with great power from 1842- 1844. We saw were fifty thousand (50,000) joined the message, which shows them fearing God. But it does not stop there; each individual has a work to do personally, to receive the message both intellectually and spiritually so that they will not be moved.
“All heaven watched with the deepest interest the reception of the first angel’s message. But many who professed to love Jesus, and who shed tears as they read the story of the cross, derided the good news of His coming. Instead of receiving the message with gladness, they declared it to be a delusion. They hated those who loved His appearing and shut them out of the churches. Those who rejected the first message could not be benefited by the second; neither were they benefited by the midnight cry, which was to prepare them to enter with Jesus by faith into the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary. And by rejecting the two former messages, they have so darkened their understanding that they can see no light in the third angel’s message, which shows the way into the most holy place.” EW 260.1
911 is where the second angel’s message arrived in our history announcing the fall of Babylon. In the Millerite’s history the arrival of the second angel’s message on April 19, 1844 points to the fall of the Protestant churches. Then it was that the corruptions the churches were more visible. “The Protestant churches have accepted the spurious Sabbath, the child of the Papacy, and have exalted it above God’s holy, sanctified day. It is our work to make plain to our children that the first day of the week is not the true Sabbath, and that its observance, after light has come to us as to what is the true Sabbath, is a plain contradiction of the law of God” (CG 312.4). This shows the actions of the Protestant Churches when they become like Babylon therefore. God, in response to their actions, sent the second angel’s message to call His faithful few out of Babylon. The faithful leaving is with a purpose: to be spared the plagues that are to fall upon the corrupt church. See Revelation 18:1-8.
Linking the Millerite’s history with the history of 1989 we see Protestant America in league with Rome and through this union we learn of the sublime expectation they had of enforcing the Patriot Act. God in His mercy restrained that from happening by sending judgment on America on September 11, 2001 and calling His people out of Babylon.
“Now comes the word that I have declared that New York is to be swept away by a tidal wave. This I have never said. I have said, as I looked at the great buildings going up there, story after story: ‘What terrible scenes will take place when the Lord shall arise to shake terribly the earth! Then the words of Revelation 18:1-3 will be fulfilled.’ The whole of the eighteenth chapter of Revelation is a warning of what is coming on the earth. But I have no light in particular in regard to what is coming on New York, only I know that one day the great buildings there will be thrown down by the turning and overturning of God’s power. From the light given me, I know that destruction is in the world. One word from the Lord, one touch of His mighty power, and these massive structures will fall. Scenes will take place the fearfulness of which we cannot imagine.” LS 411.5
The third angel does the work of binding and preparing the characters of God’s faithful few. The first and second angels are the ones that lay the foundation. An illustration of the laying of the foundation is the history of Judah’s captivity. After their seventy (70) years captivity terminated, it is seen that under the first and second decree the foundation of the temple is laid and completed; the third decree gave gospel order. The decrees in Daniel 11:1-4 under the kings’ of Persia represents the three (3) angels’ messages. Upon close observation you will see that the decrees and the three (3) angels’ messages are connected due to the principle of symbols having more than one (1) application. This application fits perfectly!
