Revelation 10:3&4
“And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he cried Seven thunders uttered their voices.”

“After these seven thunders uttered their voices, the injunction comes to John as to Daniel in regard to the little book: “Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered.” These relate to future events which will be disclosed in their order. Daniel shall stand in his lot at the end of the days. John sees the little book unsealed. Then Daniel’s prophecies have their proper place in the first, second, and third angels’ messages to be given to the world. The unsealing of the little book was the message in relation to time.” – {7BC 971.4}

 Who is this Lion?
“The mighty angel who instructed John was no less a personage than Jesus Christ. Setting His right foot on the sea, and His left upon the dry land, shows the part which He is acting in the closing scenes of the great controversy with Satan. This position denotes His supreme power and authority over the whole earth.” 7BC 971.2

What Is The History The Of Thunders

What Is The History Of The First and Second And Second Angel?

• Revelation 14:6 “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people”
• Revelation 14:7 “Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”
• According to Daniel 12:4, the book of Revelation 5 and Daniel 12 could not be opened or unsealed until the time of the end therefore this identifies two very important points for us.

What Is Identified

• Two Times of the End
• 1798 and
• 1844

How Does It Do This?

• According to Daniel 12:4 the words were closed and sealed until the time and vs 11 of the same chapter tells us when this time is at the end of the 1260 yrs.
• The thunders on the other hand were not to be written, but were a delineation of events under the first and second angel.
• Daniel 12:4 says knowledge would be increased at the Time of the End and at 1798 there was an increase of knowledge as it relates to prophecy, “Angels of God repeatedly visited that chosen one, to guide his mind and open to his understanding prophecies which had ever been dark to God’s people.” EW 229.1 while at the at the end of 1844 there was an increase of knowledge about the Cleansing of Sanctuary. Which is what was delineated by the thunders.

What was the Purpose of The Thunders

“It was not best for the people to know these things, for their faith must necessarily be tested. In the order of God most wonderful and advanced truths would be proclaimed. The first and second angels’ messages were to be proclaimed, but no further light was to be revealed before these messages had done their specific work.” SDA BC 971.6

• The thunders acted as a test to the people of God therefore it shows that judgment of the living took place under their utterance or under the proclamation of the first and second angels God sifted His people leading them up to the opening of the judgment of the dead.
• Under this movement/the uttering of the thunders we saw the church grow from a handful to a large number but we also saw this number leaving from a whopping 50,000 to only 50 members. Food for thought.
  This was also a time when we saw the manifestation of two classes of people being developed and by Oct.22, 1844 being identified, the wise and the foolish virgins of Matthew 25 both classes  had their lamps but what was the difference manifested by them one class had their lamps but no extra oil while the other took their lamps with extra  oil. As Daniel 12:10

“Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand”.

It is very important to consider the work of the thunders which consisted in an understanding of the prophecies of Daniel and John. The Prophecies relating to time were the 1260, 1290, 1335, 2300 days and finally the 2520, but the two main ones that tested the people of God were the 2300 days and the 2520.How does this affect us today?
Do we hear the calls of the first and second Angels going forth? If so are we, therefore hearing the utterances of the Thunders? Are we understanding them and will we be found among the wise or the foolish? Many today deny these messages and say they are not from God, we have before us 1989 which is the fulfillment of Daniel 11:40 b, we also have 2001 which fulfilled Revelation 18:1-3 announcing the fall of Babylon! Most recently we see the Papacy bridging the gap and “healing wounds” with his recent visit to Cuba and visit to the USA on the 23rd of September, yet we sit in contented blindness! “I then saw the third angel. Said my accompanying angel, “Fearful is his work. Awful is his mission. He is the angel that is to select the  wheat from the tares, and seal, or bind, the wheat for the heavenly garner.
These things should engross the whole mind, the whole attention.” –
{EW 118.1} “Temporal things are not to engage our whole attention, or engross our minds until our thoughts are entirely of the earth and the earthly. We are to train, discipline, and educate the mind so that we may think in a heavenly channel, that we may dwell on things unseen and eternal, which will be discerned by spiritual vision. It is by seeing Him who is invisible that we may obtain strength of mind and vigor of spirit (The Signs of the Times, January 9, 1893)”. – {6BC 1100.4}
